TEAM Scotland and Firefish

Yesterday, our CEO Wendy and Megan from Marketing headed into the city centre for the TEAM Scotland Regional Meeting. As you may know, TEAM is the UK's largest network of independent recruiters and when members come together it's a fantastic opportunity for knowledge sharing, networking and keeping abreast of industry developments and updates.

The Team Network Is Growing

It was really good to see so many familiar faces as well as a few new ones and it's brilliant that the TEAM network is growing so well. As usual, the conversation was flowing as TEAM Scotland members shared their experiences of the current market and how its impacting their sectors of business within agencies.

The guest speaker for yesterday was Warren Kemp who is MD of Recruitment Matters International. Warren has been active in the recruitment industry for over 20 years now and his knowledge and experience has led to him training recruiters

in more than 25 countries. He was discussing 'Winning More Business' and explored this topic with Ten Top Tips & Tactics to Get from Good to Great. He also shared an interesting fact with us; recruitment agencies have been around since 1873 with the first being Grabbitas who are still operational today and work in the education sector. Every day is a school day!

Megan was live-tweeting (from our @firefishnow account) throughout the day; sharing as much of the experience as possible via social media with those who couldn't attend. We have further notes and Warren's tips available to share with those who missed the meeting so get in touch if you'd like a copy. The talk was really great and informative, even for the recruitment veterans in the room and the discussions it generated were incredibly insightful and thought provoking as we all seek to build on previous successes and get better and better. It's always great for Firefish Software® to hear what's happening out in industry. While many of our team are ex-recruiters we like to keep our ear to the ground and ensure that our software is servicing the recruiters of today as well as we can. 

Like the last TEAM Scotland meeting, yesterday we were kindly hosted by Anderson Strathern who have a gorgeous office overlooking George Square in the heart of our city. The sun's been shining on Glasgow this week and it was great to see everyone out enjoying the weather. Rhona, a Partner at the firm gave us an employment law update which we will also share with TEAM Scotland members.
