Stewart Pollock, Data Functional Lead

Stewart Pollock is our Data Functional Lead– which means he manages the technical side of data migrations, tickets, and all that wizardry. However, this isn’t where he started his Firefish journey!

He joined us in June 2017 as a Junior Data Analyst but being a highly ambitious Fish, he was promoted to Data Analyst in under a year, then the following year to Data Team Lead! This role involved moving away from technical work to managing a team. He trained new junior data analysts and oversaw the Data team’s work, making sure the ever-growing team of data Fishies was all swimming in the right direction!

At Firefish, we always want our Fish to feel fulfilled and to enjoy their role.  Stewart quickly realized that he missed the hands-on technical work so with the support of the shoal he swam across into his current role of Data Functional Lead. He’s still responsible for the entire team – but instead of managing the people, he’s the technical expert and manages the technologies and processes they work with.

Stewart tells us that he now loves his position and appreciates that Firefish offers the opportunity to grow in any direction: whether that’s vertically or horizontally, you’ll be supported to excel in the place that’s right for you.

Moving across roles horizontally is one of the most unique opportunities that Firefish presents to the shoal.
