We've had a sparkler of a month filled with fun in the Aquarium and lots of banging events!  Read on to find out what we got up to in November...

Halloween

There were some spooky goings on in the Aquarium at the end of October as the Fish got into the spirit of Halloween.  

We didn't just dress up, though: we also had a Greatest Fishiest Halloween Bake-Off!  We baked our spookiest spoils, and the winner of our vote on who had brought us the best paranormal produce was Christine with her vampire teeth cookies. 

UK Recruiter's The Recruitment Conference

The Recruitment Conference is designed to benefit both inhouse and agency recruiters, with sessions that combine expert opinion and experience with dynamic debate and audience discussion.  

Cameron had a great day here, where topics including diversity and inclusion; candidate, client and consultant experience; business development and strategic growth; and process, technology and resourcing solutions were covered.  For Cameron, the stand-out of this highly inspiring and informative day was Gordon Stoddart's (Co-Founder of The Recruitment Network) talk on the Top 3 Things High Growth Recruitment Businesses Get Right. 

National Online Recruitment Awards

We were delighted to sponsor the Best Small Recruitment Agency award at the NORAs at the swanky Sway Bar in London.  The NORAs are entirely dedicated to the continual improvement and evolution of the candidate experience, so views the recruitment sector from the perspective of a jobseeker and recognises those who demonstrate the best examples of excellence in the recruitment industry.

The competition was extremely stiff for the Best Small Recruitment category, but the awesome team at Give A Grad A Go scooped the award.  Well big well done to the team!

Marketing & Digital Recruitment Awards

Cameron and Alan had a brilliant night at the Marketing & Digital Recruitment Awards, where they were joined by our Fish friends from TEAM, Nobul Resourcing Solutions, Pure IT Associates and North Star Recruitment.

We weren't just there to spectate, though.  Cameron presented the award for Technology & IT Specialist Team to Montreal Associates, who had displayed clear evidence of strategic development, new market penetration, expert positioning and forging genuine engagement with clients and candidates. Figures were strong and well-presented, and niche market specialisation has clearly benefited the agency. 

A huge congratulations to the very deserving team at Montreal Associates from all the Fish!

CodeClan Partner Programme Launch

We're passionate about the Scottish tech sector and nurturing local talent, so Vicki and Colin were delighted to attend the CodeClan Partner Programme Launch event. 

Colin is a graduate of CodeClan's first ever Glasgow cohort and he's been swimming to success as a Front End Developer at Firefish ever since, so we're big CodeClan fans!   We were very excited to see what the team have been up to, and hear their amazing plans for the future.  The goody bags were fab, too!

Fishaversaries

We had two of our fabulous Fish celebrating their Firefish anniversaries in November!

UI/UX Front-End Developer John swam into our lives a year ago, and has been keeping us and our Fish friends looking beautiful ever since! John loves being able to positively influence how people use their websites, having an impact on someone's experience of a site and making sure it looks great, and we hope you'll agree that he's certainly doing just that! 

Digital Marketing Champion Christine has been a Fish for two years, and we'd be lost without her keeping us on brand...and her yummy baking!

Birthdays

It was a bumper month for birthdays over in the Growth team with Head of Product Marketing James and Growth Specialists Joanne and Alan all celebrating. 

As well as wishing them the happiest of birthdays, the team were delighted with the abundance of cake! 

We'll be back at the end of December with an update yule love - all about our Firefish Festive Fridays, and announcing our Fish of the Year winner!
