We love to shout about our Shoal any chance we get at Firefish Software, and we love to recognise their achievements, be that inside or outside of work. We’re shining the spotlight on Lewis Marasco, our Product Experience Team Lead, and his efforts to aid the fight against dementia in Scotland.
Earlier this month, Lewis took part in the Great Scottish Run half marathon, in aid of the Alzheimer Scotland – Action on Dementia. It’s a cause close to his and his families’ hearts.
This year I took part in the Great Scottish Run in memory of my Mother in-law, Marie. Marie sadly lost her battle with a form of Dementia earlier this year after only a few short years of declining health; her loss has had a significant impact everyone who knew her - especially her daughters who miss her terribly.
The Great Scottish Run half marathon is a renowned annual road race held in Glasgow. The race is open to participants from all backgrounds and fitness levels and offers a platform for runners to pursue personal goals while also often supporting charitable causes.
Lewis did such an amazing job, smashing out the distance in just two hours and 36seconds, a truly awe-inspiring effort from him. Not only that, but Lewis has exceeded his fundraising target by almost 80% - which is such a fin-ominal achievement.
