Movin’ on Up! - Promotions at Firefish
We’re dedicated to accelerating careers, and the whole shoal looks forward to our October and April updates for a very special reason: we find out who has been promoted!
We’re delighted to share that six of the shoal are celebrating very well deserved promotions:
Natasha Shaurek – Director of Product
If you want a definition of what it means to be a Fish, just take a look at Natasha! Joining the shoal as a Junior Developer in 2012, Natasha has now been promoted to Director of Product and is responsible for our Product Experience, App Support and Build functions.
“I am absolutely delighted to be promoted to a Director of Product! Firefish always pushes you to be the best you can be, so seeing how far along you’ve come, knowing you’ve started from only a junior developer, you can’t feel anything but awe for the company. Love Firefish, love the people I am working with and can’t wait to see what we can all achieve in the next few years together.”
Peter McMorrow – Interim Director of Customer
Pete joined the shoal as Associate Director of Customer in June this year and has been doing an outstanding job while Louise is on maternity leave. We’re thrilled that he is now our Interim Director of Customer.

Colin McKean – Build Functional Lead
When Colin joined us straight from Code Clan we thought we’d found a very special Fish…and we were right: he has consistently wowed since day one!
“I’m excited to move into a role to use my experience and expertise to help guide and shape our product. A massive credit to Firefish who has helped me grow and develop over the years with career journey check-ins. I’m also so happy to see Natasha move into her new role as over the years she has been a massive inspiration to me, and I’ve seen how consistently and how hard she works. Her promotion is well deserved.”
David Connolly – Growth Outreach Functional Lead
David is a true expert in his field, and his supportive nature shines through with both colleagues and prospective customers.

I have really enjoyed my journey with Firefish up to this point and have been really impressed with how the company has worked with me to help me develop my career and the ongoing support all the Fish have been given over the past three years. I’m looking forward to the challenges of my new role and for what the future holds for the business.”
Paul Owens – Senior Developer
Despite his claims, Paul could actually write code when he joined the shoal! He works to a consistently high standard and is always keen to help others by sharing his excellent knowledge.
“I love working at Firefish and it’s just such a great feeling to know my hard work has been appreciated. When I came here nearly 5 years ago I could just about write code…and now I’m a senior developer!”
Paul Lees – Senior Developer
Since joining the shoal 18 months ago, Paul has made a huge impact in our App Support team. He’s not only a fin-tastic developer, but a great mentor to our Graduate Developers.
“I feel my recent promotion to Senior Developer is great, as I feel recognised for the work I have done in the last year and a half of working for Firefish. I am excited to see where the next year and a half takes me!”
